A Bluebird Breakfast

Last week we decided to stretch out our money a little bit and go out for breakfast and lunch instead of just going out to dinner.  We decided to go to back to Bluebird Diner because I was craving their biscuits and gravy.  Luckily we got there at a good time and got right in.  Usually it is pretty busy, especially on a Sunday morning, but somehow we were even lucky enough to find a parking spot without driving in circles for ten minutes.

The inside of the Bluebird is nice and open, yet it still feels pretty cozy inside even with all of those crazy mirrors.  But its not a bad crazy, they are actually pretty cool and some of them are really BIG!  I also like the boomerang designs on the tables.

I looked over the menu for a few minutes, but it was pointless really because I already knew what I wanted.  Their special for the morning was a breakfast burrito, and even though I have made it clear that I love burritos, it wasn’t enough to get me to stray away from the biscuits and gravy.

I noticed that someone sitting near us ordered a burrito and it looked pretty tasty.  I overheard the lady that was eating it tell the waitress the breakfast burrito was good but it needed some kind of potato in it.  Maybe I’ll try it next time we go.

Rachel ended up getting the blueberry pancakes and I got the best biscuits and gravy known to man (or woman).  I noticed when the food came out that the gravy was a bit darker than last time.  I’m not sure why, but it tasted just as good as the first time.

My meal also came with hash-browns and scrambled eggs.  The eggs were pretty cold so I just left those off to the side.  I thought everything else as really good.  Their homemade sausage is great!

Rachel seemed to like her pancakes.  They did look pretty good.

I would say our second trip to Bluebird was a success.  I have never been there for lunch or dinner, but I just have this feeling that they make excellent burgers.
